SEL vs GT tech, packages, equipment

There are quite a few differences in available equipment, depending on which trim level you opt for. And believe it or not but there are actually some comfort and convenience options which are exclusive to the SEL. Here's an overview of available features (SEL on left and GT on right).

Not too surprising that they made all the advanced safety tech and overall, advanced tech as key reasons for upgrading. Most people I spoke to don't care so much for that stuff. Instead, focus has been more on core features and functionalities.

Another factor is pricing because often people who shop in this segment are quite price conscious and have rigid price ranges they're wiling to pay into.

After going through the chart in greater detail, it looks like any of the exclusive features offered on the SEL, are bundled and provided elsewhere on the GT. BSM has been packaged with Lane Keep Assist, and steering wheel controls are now provided with transmission settings.
