Outlander PHEV gets updates for Japan
Mitsubishi will be making several improvements to the Outlander PHEV in its home market. It's getting more electric power, a bigger gas engine, a bigger battery, improved suspension and two new drive modes. The battery's capacity increases from 12kWh to 13.8kWh, which boost its electric range to 40.4 under Japans testing cycle. Engine displacement is going from 2.0 to 2.4l and the vehicle will now offer Sport and Snow modes. To improve its ride and handling, Mitsubishi has added larger front and rear dampers, as well as retuning the electric power steering. Hopefully these revisions make it stateside, because it makes the Outlander PHEV all the more appealing.
